I have an acer 8735G and the screen keeps turning itself off, plugged into an external monitor is fine. I have tried updating drivers in windows and removing the battery / draining the power to potentially correct a soft setting bug.

If I cit FN+F6 to power cycle the screen backlight it will come back on for 3-5 seconds and then power off. The screen itself is still displaying data.

I am thinking it's either a problem with the lid sensor or the lcd power inverter.

If you guys think it's 99% the inverter, I'll go off and order a replacement.

If you guys are aware for some way to unplug / test the lid sensor , please let me know.
