Welcome Gentlemen![]()
I have big problem with my new graphic card Geforce GTS 250m in my acer aspire 8935g. I cannot install drivers for this card.
Firstly I upg notebook bios version to 3212 to the latest form acer website and upg graphic card bios from:
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/...r&model=GTS+250M&interface=&memType=&memSize=
Unfortunately when i try to install any drivers (from nvidia site or acer) I have message that this drivers are not for this windows version but I am using correct ones for Windows 7 64 bit
Any ideas how fix it ? thanks a lot becasue I am fighting with this third day :/

Have you tried modified inf from here?
-
No, could you describe how to do it ?
In device manager I see that is a standard video card only not Gf GTS 250mLast edited: Mar 3, 2016 -
Go to this website: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/
Type the PCI\VEN and SUBSYS (both can be found via the device manager) choose other option as appropriate (like OS) and download the driver and modified inf. Then install by -
Done
it's working thx a lot
One question did some try to put ATI RADEON HD5870 1GB DDR5 to Acer 8935g ? -
Not that I know of - on our list for 8935G we have HD 4650, HD 4670, GT 130M and GTS 250.
-
I tried Geforce GT 240M and it works without any problems

Without hardware modifications on motherboard it will not be possible to install 5870M and any other MXMIII-B card.Only MXMIII-A type cards will fit into your laptop. The best choice currently is M4000 (stable), M5100 (will overheat, if no cooling mods will be applied), K2100M.

Have installed ati HD 6770 (red board) with no issues. Pretty stable 76*C with Arctic Silver 5 and acfancontrol "forced 33" (max rpm) in games =)

hello I have some question about acer 8935g upgrading from HD4760 to gts 250M. At first I have two of this v-cards taken from an acer 8940g. Both card worked well. Now I want to replace my ATI V-Card because it burned. Now when I replace the ATI Card with the Nvidia 250M and start my laptop, I can't see the nvidia Card in my Bios. Can it be so? Both Cards are from Acer they worked well. Now my question is what I have to do to run one of these cards. I have read so much. Some tell that it muste be flashed the Bios from MOBO anotherone means that is always nassery to change the inf of driver and so on. Now I'have been a little bit confused. Can someone help to run these Cards? A how to do were great.
Thx -

So.. i tried to upgrade the 8935g with a 250m ( got a green - not red PCB model since it was the only one i found at the time. The dead 4670 was red ) and... surprise surprise.. bios doesn't even recognize it, yet alone windows.. i tried updating both system and video bios - nvflash does recognize the gpu and knows not to install different model roms... so the card should at least be visible even if it were to be hypothetically dead or poorly mounted - which it isn't. I also tried flashing a custom S-bios with some options enabled and V-bios rom integrated... still no go. System doesn't beep, it just boots with REALLY LOW brightness, 1 % would be an overstatement - If i flash a bright light closely at the screen i can barely see to navigate into windows.. and i can open GPU-z which as well doesn't recognize the card... Tried different outputs.. monitor,TV.. nada. So, what gives? Is the pci slot dead, card dead... wrong pcb color ^^ incompatibility... can the bios be modded somehow to allow this card ? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you ! Oh and increasing the brightness w/ FN keys or otherwise doesn't work - it s not a windows issue. It starts from system post.
