    Hi,

I own an Acer 8943G laptop, and I have had it for over a year so it's kind of slow now. Was looking to do a reinstall of my Windows, but I was just wondering if that's even possible since my BIOS is locked.

Is there any legit way to unlock the BIOS?

I'm on Windows 7 x64 Home Premium atm.

That would be bypassing security measures which is forbidden by forum rules so it can't be discussed (bypassing that is)

What do you mean by locked? You don't need a password to start the machine so why do you say it's locked?

I'm not sure what you mean by the BIOS being locked, but on my 8943G I did a fresh wipe/re-install of Windows right out of the box to clean up any of the Acer bloatware.

Just make sure you make a disk with all the drivers/Acer programs first (there should be an function to do that if I recall), and that way everything's not only easy to reinstall, but you can pick and choose what programs you want back on there.

okay no more about that mean. I meant getting into the BIOS to change boot order/setup RAID0 etc, but I guess that's outside the rules.

Okay thanks! I will just do a wipe and re-install windows, that's what I wanted to achieve anyway.
