    Hi

This is my first laptop so still trying to get the hang of using a touch pad.

When trying to scroll vertically using the touch pad the entire page gets highlighted as if I was going to copy and paste.

Yes it scrolls but it's annoying that the entire page is highlighted while scrolling.

Is this how scrolling works when using a touchpad ?

Forget about scrolling horizontal..I just can't get the hang of it at all. It's so annoying to have to move the pointer down to the scroll bar so i can scroll sideways.

    Any tips?

This laptop is a little over a week old.

Been having problems with the touch pad.

Last night my laptop screen just went black and I couldn't do anything becasue it froze. I had to do a hard reboot.

It booted up but now my topuchpad doesn't work at all even when I switch over and hit the Video/audio button. It no longer lights up.

    The touchpad is dead.

Everything else works find and have to use the arrow keys to move the pointer.

    Any suggestions ?

Did I maybe hit a hotkey combo by accident that might have shut down the touchpad ?

    Please help ..

    Thanks

PS: I didn't install anything new or any drivers (Other than Acer's driver for the wireless Disconnect several days ago) and the laptop is in the same condition that Acer sent it out.

Try to uninstall touchpad driver and/or Launch Manager, reboot and install those again.

    Ooops

It seems it just does it all by itself where touchpad won't work.

You have to hit the "FN" button with the "F7" to turn the touchpad back on.

Why it does it I have no clue I was just reading posts on another forum and boom ..no touchpad ! Many posts out there on the net with this problem and people going crazy when it's such a easy fix.

Now I have another problem.. :( When I try to watch youtube video's my laptop freezes and screen goes black and nothing works. I have to do a hard reboot to get back up and running. I was hoping it was a one time fluke but nooooo because I tried it 4 different times and the same thing happened .

I don't understand why this happens because I have no problem streaming netflix movies and the CPU is only at 11 % usage and ram at 20 something.

Laptop isn't hot at all to the touch anywhere..just light warm air coming from the vent.

Would you happen to know what's causing the youtube problem ?

I searched the net and here and can't find a fix..very frustrating to say the least.

I don't really watch youtube for fun but I do watch alot of how to youtube video's and need my youtube back.

I haven't added anything new to this laptop or installed anything as it's only a little over a week old.

    Any suggestions ?

If you are using Mozilla Firefox Beta 4 it might be causing crashes while streaming video...
Is that happening in any browser?

yes this problem has been solved for me. You have to change in the flash options the "hardware acceleration" option.

I'm going to smash this laptop ..one problem after another.

When I go to youtube and check my account settings there's nothing there for "hardware Acceleration" . So I figured I have to right click a video to get to them options in a drop down menu.

The problem is as soon as I start a youtube video it freezes(Entire laptop and screen goes black) up on me right away and don't have a chance to do it . Even if I did it freezes up the curser/pointer. I even tried right clicking on a videoi without playing it and no option to shut down the HA.

How did you shut down the Hardware acceleration ?

    Thanks

I couldn't get the hardware acceleration shut off so i had to search the net.

I'm in a rush and have to leave right now but I found the real fix and will post in detail tomorrow.
