I just had my acer laptop in the shop to hopefully fix the media controls on the touchpad that light up the plastic display so you can control the volume and other controls by using the touchpad when you want to watch a DVD on my laptop. It came back with the lights working when I clicked the button, but once I ran the backup to get my laptop back to where it was before I sent it in the lights quit working again on the touchpad. You see, Acer has a bad habit of wiping the laptop everytime you need something fixed even if it's minor. That is why I backed everything up before it went in. I could have done that myself and saved the 2 weeks I totally disagree with the fact that they wipe everything for minor fixes. If I knew that is what they were up to I would have used the time to scout forums . Someone has to know what controls these background lights to enable the touchpad controls to woork. Is it a driver? It's obviously not hardware or it wouldn't have worked when I got it back so it has to be some software issue. Or driver. I have tried the Launch Manager I have tried powering down and popping the battery out and in. Nothing works. Please help.
Acer 8943g media controls on the touchpad still fail to light up
