I want to upgrade the memory in my acer 8943g 7748g1t

But what is the maximum amount it can handle? I know the specs state that it's 16gb max but I've also read that it can take up to 32gb. Also I had some repair work done on it from a shop and they said that it should handle up to 32 Gb

Can anyone confirm if it will take 32 gb before I buy anything

    Thanks

In this invoice is stated, that the system ram can be expanded up to 32Gb of RAM. In this link there is a list of laptops, that can handle first-gen corei CPUs AND 32Gb of RAM. 8943G is included in that list.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the reply

So what memory configuration should I go for as there are 4 slots?

Also what brand will be best suited?

    Thanks

These modules should be ok, you have to order two kits.

Before ordering waiting for other users opinion about this question.

    Thanks for the link

Ive seen some memory at pc world (uk) which works out £40 per stick, these

They seem to be the same spec as those crucial ones

But is the brand a reliable one? Integral

If anyone has any experience or other options please let me know

    Thanks

propolkin - Is this the correct spec I need for my laptop? Because I did a Crucial memory scan and it recommended memory which was PC3-12800. I checked with cpu-z to see the current spec of whats installed and it said max bandwidth - PC3-10700 (667 mhz)

    Thanks

That memory you are latking about is not compatible with your chipset. Here is description of RAM types. For your chipset you should find PC3-6400 or PC3-8500. PC-10666(10700) will work also, but with downlocked frequencies.

So these or these will be compatible with my chipset?

So I purchased the Integral memory sticks. I installed them into the empty slots and the laptop just stayed on the windows loading screen. Tried the new sticks on their own in the laptop and it was still staying on the loading screen with the loading circle going around. Does this mean the memory is incompatible with my laptop? or my laptop can only handle 16gb but with 4x4gb sticks?

Update: I ran Memtest86 with just the new memory installed and it passed and then I restarted and it booted fine. So I installed the old memory in aswell and it seems to be working fine now so it has 24gb memory now! Thanks for your help
