When booting up the screen is black then it has like a whitish tint to it. I connected it to an external and I had a screen. My research into the issue seemed to say that because I had a screen on the external screen it wasn't the motherboard or the graphics card and suggested it tis either the backlight lamp or the inverter. Then I read that likely the whitish tint on the screen suggested that it not the backlit lamp and it seems to point to the inverter.

I purchased the laptop from Newegg with the extra 1 year warranty sold by Newegg. They had it for a week and said it's till being diagnosed and they would contact me in 3 days with status.

Is the likely problem the inverter or could it be soemthing else?

    Thanks

It can't be an inverter since 8950G uses LED back-light and those panels don't use inverters at all.
