Hello all, I'm running Win7 on a AS1410 Single Core version and up until yesterday the sound was working fine. Today however Win7 reports that no audio device is present and opening the device manager shows no audio device at all, no conflicts or errors, just no device.

I haven't installed anything and my only guess is perhaps it is a hardware failure. Does anyone have any ideas or experiences with a similar issue?

    Thanks.

That is strange... You could try downloading latest Realtek drivers (from official site) and see if it installs.
You could also take off the palmrest and try reseating the cable that connects Audio board/SD reader/USB ports card to the motherboard. You can follow this guide http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5446911&postcount=320 for taking notebook apart.
If all fails it is time to call Acer and schedule a system repair.
