    I am considering purchasing an Acer Aspire 5742G but I have read that its screen isn't that great, and that it exhibits a screen-door effect.

    Is that true? If it does exhibit a screen-door effect, is it very visible?

    I've been using an HP dv5-1126em for a while now, and I think that its screen is adequate. Is the Acer's screen a step up and step down from that?

    I would really appreciate some insight.
