Hi! Long story short - i need to factory reset a Acer AS5750G-2638675Mk. It has only been used for a few days (not by me). However, when i boot and press Alt+F10 and enter Acers recovery management - it won't let me initiate a system recovery. All it says is "please complete operating system setup process before doing system recovery". All i can do now is press OK and the system will reboot.

I checked the partitions of the HDD and they seem intact...

I checked in BIOS and D2D recovery is set to enabled. I have made system recovery on many different Acer models prior to this one but this one gives me headaches.

    Unfortunately i have no CD's.

Any ideas? Im out of luck here.

    Thnaks in advance.

So it does boot normally into windows if left alone or will not boot normally, that is why you're trying recovery?

It does boot normally into windows if left alone. However, this is a computer which is going to be sold and i want the guy buying it to have it factory restored.

I see. Did a search for "please complete operating system setup process before doing system recovery" and what I'm finding is the restore files may be corrupted.

This may be of some help: How To Reset Windows 7 To Original Factory Settings [Complete Guide]

Well, i suppose i could clean it that way. Thanks for the tip.

However i was still thinking if there is any way to get past this message just to make a factory reset. I have been using google to find a solution and it seems this is a rather common issue, especially with acer, but i cannot find a solution. Guess i will need to give Acer a call.

One last thing. Did you try going into the Acer Recovery Manager and creating a recovery disc?
