    Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire 8735G with an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 processor. I have changed the CPU with a X9100 and it didn't work. I've put the original CPU back but it still doesn't work.
It powers up, detects the HDD and DVD and that's it. If it runs on battery and I connect the AC adapter it makes the usual beep and the charging led lights up. The screen doesn't light up at all.
When I changed the CPU I unmounted the graphic card and RAM so reseated the graphic card, CPU and RAM several times without success.

Any ideas of what can possibly cause the malfunction?

    Thanks!

I'm back after almost 2 months of waiting for the laptop to get repaired. Seems like a faulty graphic card can also destroy the mobo's graphic card power supply. Anyway, now it's working great with the X9100 CPU, no thanks to the repair shop.
So if anyone owning an Aspire8735G is interested in upgrading the CPU: it's working great with Intel X9100 using the latest BIOS version (V1.07).
Using ZM-STG1 thermal paste it's working at around 40 degrees Celsius when using regular applications (internet browser, messenger, media player, all at the same time).
