Hello and hopefully thanks for help in advance.

I have had my Acer AS8930-6442 for almost 2 years and after about 6 months the touchpad sound controller went bonker's had it repaired and it did it again just after my warranty ran out. It this something that is easy to replace? It does not effect the operation of the laptop at all its just annoying.

Also I am hoping to upgrade the Processor/Video Card. is currently has a Core2 Duo t6400 4GB mem and Nvidia 9600M GT. I am wondering if I can go to a quad core proc and if I am limited to any specific video card upgrades.

I have been building PC's forever and this is my first non-work provided laptop. So I am green when it comes to pulling apart these things and upgrading them.

    All help is appreciated. Thanks
