    Hi,

So I am just wondering if someone could tell me what it means when the powerlight turns pink and the whole computer slows down?
Ive tried to google and go thru these forums but havnt found it.

This occurs when I try to run a game (i.e. Call of duty 5)

unplugging and plugging the power cord back in keeps the power light blue for a second or two and everything runs smoothly but then it turns back to pink and everything slows down by a ridiculous amount so its somewhat unplayable.

The laptop has been at Acer workshop twice and all they have done both times is replace the power cable which does not fix the problem.
Also, when the light is pink it seems that the battery is not charging anymore

    Help would be greatly appreciated

Does this occur when the battery is not plugged in?

Also download HWMonitor and report your computer's max ACPI, CPU, GPU and HDD temps, unless you're sure it's not an overheating issue.

Also, are you sure the colour is pink and not orange or red?

When battery isnt in the computer just dies when trying to start windows so it doesnt even get there.

And yea its not orange or red its pink unless im colorblind.

im pretty sure its not overheating but ill download the prog and report in a bit

Anyways.. those temperatures are a bit high if your laptop wasn't really doing anything (ie just web browsing). If you were gaming, then the temps are ~alright.

Your computer will turn off if the CPU's temperature reaches ~100C or your GPU's temperature ~105C.

I still have no idea about the pink light thing though...

Sorry, I don't know (my laptop's a BenQ), but it should be in your computer's instruction booklet.
