My Acer 5315 ports died tough little notebook. I got the ASV3-731-4634 to my surprise it has a 2nd bay. Acer however says it is not supported so therefore will not sell me a caddy. This seems dumb to me as they also fail to mention a 2nd bay in the manual etc.

Does anyone know if this bay work? I can buy a caddy from an oem and thinking of an 1tb drive for backing up data etc.

it probably will but just remember that two hard drives takes up more power and could possibly decrease the life of the computer

The notebook was $429.99 om Amazon the day I got it so it was cheap enough to give it a shot.
