I have an Acer Aspire 5315 and yesterday I discovered that Acer Arcade has stopped working. When I put in a DVD the application window opens as normal but that's as far as it gets; the DVD doesn't actually load. I can't understand what the problem is as it worked fine two days before. It's very frustrating as this application is the only way I can watch DVDs (Windows Media Player is not compatible for playing DVDs, don't know why). Any help would be much appreciated.

Windows Media Player only has the necessary codecs to play DVDs in Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate, or any version of Windows 7.
Try using Media Player Classic Homecinema - it's a free alternative that has any codec you'd need built in: get it here.
