    Yes your aspire 5112 (5100 series) will accept 2gb modules of DDR2 667mhz ram with no problems as I am currently running 2x1gb crucial 667mhz modules in my 5102. :)

    The 5100 series of notebooks can handle up to 4gb of ram which means 2gb in each slot (2x2gb) however if you aren't using a 64bit OS you will not be able to use all of it as 32bit windows can only see around ~3-3.5gb.

    i have 2*512 mb 533MHZ
    i am thinking on buying a 2 gb 667 MHZ and use
    one of my old 512 mb because i didnt thought about the drivers earlier

    It's not better, but your laptop doesn't support ECC ram, so thus if you put ECC ram in there it won't boot. I made that mistake once and was going crazy trying to figure out what was wrong.
