I have an Acer 1410 which has a set of status LEDs aimed right at your face.
I've seen a similar configuration on other Acer Aspire machines.
A solid LED is fine, but the WIFI status LED (orange) constantly blinks randomly and is quite annoying. For a year or so I've been using electrical tape to cover it up. However often, the tape starts to peel away, bleed adhesive gunk and attract crud.
Is there any hidden setting someone that would allow me to disable this Orange WIFI status LED?
    Thanks

Try removing the wifi card and putting cellophane over pins 42,44,46 per pinout to disable the LED signals being transmitted to the I/O chipset.

Does the Wi-Fi card happen to be Broadcom by any chance?
If so you can disable blinking by editing driver inf file or in the registry change:
    ledbh0 -1 to ledbh0 1.

Check for these values in registry anyway- I saw these work on Intel 5300 too.

And of course there's the classic solution, a small piece of tape.
