    Hi all,

I have an Acer Aspire 4220 Laptop and the built in Microphone does not function. I tried a similar Mic in the Mic socket in the Motherboard and that did not work either. I reinstalled the Realtek Audio software but that did not fix the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas. ?

    Thank you.

    Hello.
If you have Windows 7 installed,or Vista(not sure about Vista) it automaticaly disables the Microphone in the Sound control panel.
Go to Control Panel -> Sound -> Recording tab -> right click -> and check both of the options. (show disabled and disconnected devices). If they are allready showing, then find Microphone, right click it and enable it. After that set the options after your own preferences and your done.
