Hey guys, my spacebar snapped off after moderate use on a one month old Acer. Tech support is willing to receive and fix it, but I need to be using this laptop and cannot be laptop-less for 16 days.

So I wanted to buy my own keyboard and was looking at this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Acer-Aspire-Tim...mQQptZPCA_Mice_Trackballs?hash=item5638abab6b

Now the page up and down keys are in 2 lines instead of 1 and these keys look bigger, but is the dimension of the keyboard identical to 1410 before I buy it?

The other one I saw on these forums is here:

    http://go.notebookreview.com/?id=52...26otn%3D12%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D54#ht_1779wt_939

From the timeline Thread from pookguy

The 2nd keyboard looks identical but the auction doesn't mention 1410.
Any help would be appreciated! I love this laptop except for this unfortunate and weird accident!

the 1410 and 1810 use the same keyboard.
They also share the same laptop chassis.

Ummmm just tell them you are very familiar with the replacement of the keyboard and can do it yourself...they will simply send it.

I just purchased a replacement keyboard for my brand new laptop because I don't like French keyboards, and I wanted a U.S. keyboard. I bought a Timeline 1810T (Olympic edition) last Friday. Buying a new keyboard can be used to 'change the language' of the keyboard too, and I prefer a large right-shift key.

To the best of my knowledge, the Acer 11.6" netbook (ao751h), the Gateway 11.6" netbook, the Ferrari One, the Acer 1410 series, and the Acer 1810 series, all use interchangeable LCD panel glass and keyboards -- so if your LCD or keyboard breaks, you can buy a replacement off eBay ($10-20 for keyboard, $100-$150 for LCD) and fix your 11.6" netbook pretty cheaply.

This was one of the reasons I decided not to get a Sony Vaio -- replacement parts for those are more expensive and harder to find.
