I recently picked up a nice 1410, the 12" version. Looking around on Acer's site it appears they used this name in the past for a 14" laptop as well? Is the new 1410 the laptop people are discussing in the other threads with the Timeline?
The primary reason I ask is because I'd like to buy another AC adapter off Ebay, and it seems many that come up for the 1410 may be for the old laptop. Is there some other model or part number I should be searching for?
Thanks.

There isn't a 12" version of the 1410.
There is a Aspire 1410 11.6" which has a Intel CULV CPU, it shares the same chassis as the Aspire 1810 (which is a Timeline laptop) but comes with a smaller battery. This ships with either Vista or Windows 7 depending on configuration & when purchased.

There is a Aspire 1410 15.6" which had a Intel Celeron CPU & shipped with Windows XP. -
Sorry, I rounded 11.6" up to 12", close enough (for me).
Thanks for the clarification regarding the Timeline. My issue with the replacement AC adapters is that they all appear to be 19v 3.2 amp (or thereabout), whereas the one that came with the laptop is 19v 1.58 amp. Is this a issue?
Thanks. -
3.2 Amp is too high.
Even the 1810 with it's bigger battery comes with a 19V 1.58A adaptor. -
Take a look here.
You want a 30W one that produces 19v @ 1.58A -
Thanks. I also changed my search for the AC part number (adp-30jh), and that helped a lot. Still a number of sellers pushing the 3.4 amp model, but I found a 1.58 amp that works.

Yes, that's why I was confused by all the higher amperage units.

From what I understand, the normal Aspire laptops use a more powerful AC adaptor, around 90W+.
The Timeline series uses a much smaller 30W adaptor, I think this is partly down to preserving the life of the much longer run-time battery. Someone on here mentioned that Dell's use a higher output AC adaptor on their CULV laptops, but they tend to eat batterys in the long run.
Acer Aspire 1410 - duplicate model #? Need AC adapter?
