Classic... a full mug of tea got knocked over and tipped its contents over the keyboard. Disconnected power and battery, dismantled it and dried it out as best as possible, even right under the the silver shielding that covers the mousepad's PCB which seemed to be the worst affected.
Result... on power on it won't go past the "<F2> to enter setup" screen. No other POST messages, even after leaving it on for 30 minutes. Do we have any hope of a rescue? Thoughts, ideas, suggestions, commiserations, very welcome. Thanks all.

It's possible the keyboard is damaged, but its also possible you've done more damage.
Did you leave the laptop upside down so any liquid could run back out? -
UPDATE: Well, after no signs of life all afternoon I just turned it on and it went straight to full boot. Some things are a bit dodgy - the mousepad seem very iffy - but all services seem functional. Suggests to me the boot failure was POST finding a dodgy connection to one or more bits of hardware which gradually improved while it was left. I don't feel minded to trust it (I suspect dodgy connections tend to get worse over time) but at least nothing seems permanently blown, so there's hope. Think I'll dismantle again and leave it to air overnight... -
If it were me, at this point I'd completely disassemble it and soak the motherboard and any other key components in 92% Isopropyl alcohol to remove residue and potentially inhibit future corrosion.
