At least 3 shops in Europe are already listing it, including official product codes. That's all the proof I need.

so shops are also providing links to the new Apple IPAD ... lol..

So I guess as you now best ...

Great that we don't have to agree , like when I stated that the 1810 is using the 751 shell, which you quoted as no way :)

I think we can state that 1810tz with su4100 exists.

But something else from the Notebookjournal link:
    Someone must be wrong here?!

We're going completely off topic here, but please show me three well known shops that list the Apple Ipad including official Apple codes ;)

In Spain, as Juan55 said, there are 2 online shops that have this product as well as the SU3500 version:

    http://www.acuista.com/x/436497-aspire_1810t_413g25n_intel_pen_lx_pj502_001/

    http://tienda.infoself.com/productos_detalle.asp?id=239921

The problem is that they don't have stock now of neither one model or another. I've speak with Acuista and they will have the SU3500 model begining september and the SU4100 beginig october.

I've phoned to a Acer shop In Barcelona and told me that they will have both models in 2 weeks.

Edit: And the official Acer site in China shows in the specs the 2 processors if you look into the 1810T specs:
    http://www.acer.com.cn/acer/product...8e.c2att101=-1&CRC=2759084358#wrAjaxHistory=0
Is sold in Acer UK too:

Problem is that these are all shops even the acerdirect.co.uk is just a shop and nothing to do with Acer... what I am looking for REAL facts.. not what a shop keeper thinks... :)

and don't those guys just pick up all their info from here ?

FYI: I don't think they're using the same shell. They look similar but they are different.

And I don't think it was me who said 'no way'. It was me who told you the 1810T would be priced around $499 in the US though.

I guess that means you don't have the links.... Too bad.

Interesting difference between the Chinese review and mine. I'm guessing they had a 4400 mAh battery and a bad scale. Or I had the bad scale but I don't think so.

Phil, you mentioned earlier in the thread that the touchpad buttons are loud. Could you possibly provide a video/recording to illustrate how loud? After using a Dell xps all this time (barely audible touchpad buttons) it'd be very annoying having to deal with a noisy touchpad.

Actually I can not do that anymore, because I send mine back because it had some problems with the paintwork. One of my videos may contain me clicking the button though... After a while it did not seem so loud anymore. Just a little bit louder than average.

Ah, is this it? I was worried it'd be as loud as some of those Asus notebooks which make a loud "click" when you press them. I guess this isn't so bad.

At this point I'm almost sold on this laptop. The only thing holding me back is the inability to play Youtube HD. I wonder if overclocking could fix that, or if I should wait for the TZ and miss the $449 preorder deal. Decisions, decisions..

    Thanks for all your help!

I'm not sure if I was actually clicking or tapping. But I don't think it will be a problem. Those clicks tend to get less loud when the notebook is not so new anymore.

I'm thinking the same. I'm not sure yet. The Tz might not be out before October.

Yes, I will have to take the same decision :-( wait untill end of october (?) for a SU4100 or buy in a couple of weeks a SU3500. If the price difference is not very much and for shure it will appear in october, I will probably go for the SU4100 :)

I think that probably the SU4100 if appears in october will have installed the Windows 7, the 32bit version I supose and no option to have the W7 64bits intalled :-(

One think I don't understand is why is 3gb installed. To achieve the dual channel RAM it would be better 2x1gb or 2x2gb isn't?

Dual Channel RAM hardly gives a performance increase so it's not really worthwhile in my opinion.

Talking about installing OS X on PC is against the forum rules :)

For those who regret the 1810T doesn't have Bluetooth: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11866 $2.46 incl. worldwide shipping.

I am not totally sure either. But I doubt there is anything that suddenly works because of installing dual channel ram. It won't help HD Flash and H264 with DXVA won't suddenly look better.

The SU4100 will help HD Flash and H264 playback without DXVA.

Have you got an example at hand? Maybe they measured asychronous vs. synchronous dual channel, just guessing.
    Edit:
Or they measured system performance instead of graphics performance.

    Edit:
I forgot who it was -it might be HP or Samsung- will release a 11.6" CULV with Celeron for 629€....

Hi All: Will any of the Acer 1410s have integrated sim slot, WLNA and BLuetooth integrated into the usit. If so, does any one know what the correct model number will be?

Also, Does anyoen know if the Aspire ONe 751h has a version with all three?

And last, if Acer Does not have a netbook with those three communication capabilites availalbe, does anyone hae any other vendo that does and it is a good build/buy>

    Thanks,

Nice to hear about the 3G option in Europe.
Should I cancel my US 1410, and wait for the
    SU4100 with 3G, a dream machine!
    _________________________________________
BTW, some will be interested in knowing about the new 11.6" Inspiron 11z (with photos) for $399 US

"Strictly classified as a "thin-and-light," this three-pound machine measures in at just one-inch thick and ships with a 1.2GHz Celeron 723 processor, a 1,366 x 768 LED-backlit panel, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250GB (5400RPM) SATA hard drive, GS45 integrated graphics, WiFi, a 3-cell battery and nary an optical drive to speak of. There's also a 1.3 megapixel camera, twin stereo speakers, an Ethernet port, three USB sockets, a 3-in-1 multicard reader and an HDMI output, though we get the feeling Windows Vista won't be too happy with the hardware."

Dell's website began listing their Inspiron 11z just a short time ago.
The web page is set to offer extensive customization, but who knows?

Some applications are more memory intensive then others. File compression is one example. Integrated video will also benefit from more memory bandwidth, >30% performance increase in 3D games sounds reasonable. Not sure about DXVA, my guess is that it shouldn't tax the memory subsystem to much, and software video decoding is definitely CPU bound.

And it will be sold for a high price, so Dell can make it's profit margin.

Dell have dropped the ball with power efficiency of their latest netbooks and laptops, and this is the main deal breaker for me when choosing a "thin-and-light". Even if they start selling 11z with more options, like a flush fitting 6-cell battery and a better procesor, I would have to wait for a review from a respected side before I'm convinced.

All my previous laptops were Dell, but at this point I have more trust in 1810t (and all it's aliases).

56WHr 6-cell for 11z is $150 from Dell right now. From the picture it seem like it could be flush fitting, but it could be the wrong battery in the picture.

Okay, sent a query to Bing about the cashback. We'll see. Hopefully I get 12% too.

The Dell, I dunno, it doesn't look as nice as the Acer, nor is it as fast. And after all the options (plus no cashback) it's gonna be more expensive. But still, compared to a $399 netbook, it's a pretty good buy. Just not as good as the Acer.

Another problem with the Dell (the main problem, actually) is that the processor is the ULV Celeron, no option for the Pentium ULV or the Core 2 Solo.

Oh geez. I just picked up a 751 couple of days ago. I've been enjoying it until I found this thread. Now I have 10 days left to decide to return this back to BJs and preorder this 1410. Is it really worth it, for another $100? These netbooks are starting to get pricier.

This isn't a netbook. So, are you willing to pay $100 to go from an (even by netbook standards) underpowered netbook to an identically sized, better equipped, far more powerful ultraportable notebook?

I think it is very well worth it.

You get a much better processor, better graphics, more ram, more hard drive space, ability to upgrade to Windows 7 for free in October, HDMI out. Its a no brainer, I would never get a netbook now!!!

I think you'll be kicking yourself if you stay with the 751 and its anemic performance, $100 gets you an investment which will last much longer and you will be happier with in the long run, go for it!!!

For a netbook/ultra-portable (whatever the hell you want to call it), an extra $100 has never delivered this much value. Unless you're on a super-tight budget, it's an easy decision between the 751 and the 1410.
