http://www.notebookcheck.com/Newseintrag.54+M5bcd108b789.0.html
Cheers
-
Yes I would like that. SU2300 with 4400maH. Powerful enough and a bit lighter than the 1810T. Don't need Bluetooth anyway.
It was already mentioned before but thanks for reminding us
-
The price difference is 100€ between the equivalents of both series, so this might also be a deciding factor.
Edit:
It would be really nice to know, if batteries are interchangeable between 1410 and 1810... -
GREAT NEWS GUYS. I am following this great topic from the beginning and i planned to buy this little beast a long time ago for my university semesters.
The price for the TZ version in Europe is out! My shop has it for exactly 491,78 Euro with tax, which is really great. BTW i am from Slovak Republic, EU.

availability 21 days
The 1810T is costing 483,18 Euro with tax here.
What do you think? I am carried away
-
@icefiresr
It's the best model of the series for a bargain price! Just take it
-
yeah, i know, but those prices are normal in our country, it´s not a bargain
i can get it even for about 10 Euro less in another shop, which has not yet listed it -
For only ten euro more than the 1810t, a dual core CPU and a larger hard drive. I think that is a bargain.
I'm assuming they are. Acer seems to treat 1410 and 1810 as one model. Some of the leaflets inside the box were for both models. -
If it is the case, the 1410 model looks more and more interesting. Just let the battery wear out over time and buy a cheap high capacity aftermarket version then.
-
For the last time for god´s sake. It is not. Bargains look totally different in that shop, i am buying from there like 8 years.
BTW the hard drive is totally the same...
http://perifer.ekatalog.biz/zbozi/a...-su3500-3g-250-w-b-vhp/detail.aspx?p=z:155831 -
What Phil and I mean is that the difference between 1810TZ and 1810T is only 8,60€ while the difference should be around 50€. So even if it is no bargain in your country, the 1810TZ is relatively cheap compared to the next lower model. If the 1810T is overpriced for your local market, the 1810TZ might be too, dunno.
-
Hey,
If anyone it the US gets a 1410 and had DirecTV, I'd love to hear if DirecTV2PC works. From posts on DBSForums it seems there is a chance it might. For whatever reason, DirecTV2PC is a resource hog even though most shows are only low bitrate 720p. -
Currently, in all shops i could check here, it looks like the 1810T is taken away from all shops, only after two weeks of sale (it started to sell here from the beginning for the same price as i linked, no price difference during the two weeks).
It totally looks like the TZ version is replacing it. Ehm, regions Acer?
-
I'm not sure about the pre-order figures, that seems ridiculously high. I called J&R today and was told there are 71 black, 25 blue, and 39 red pre-ordered. When I was waiting on my 3810T from TigerDirect, they had like 75 pre-ordered. I think 2,000 or 400 pre-ordered is a little too high to be true.
And have you guys been successful in getting Bing CB to show up in your account? -
Stupid Canadian counterparts of the companies ALWAYS get shafted.
the new Lenovo S10 is still not here. and Acer Canada says
"There has been no announcement for the AS1810T series being launched in Canada. possible ETA is late October."
and I bet its going to be around 100 or 200 more than anywhere else. -
AS1410 now available for pre-order at Amazon~com.
$449
Release day must be close.

No cash back yet at Bing of my full-week old J&R order
-
do you think 1810t will come soon too?
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
Nobody wants a U20?
-
Hmm should I cancel my J&R pre-order (I'm probably toward the end of the queue) and order from Amazon instead? Or order both and cancel after one of them ships... but then again if they shipped the same day, that wouldn't be good.
-
Specs look amazing but it's twice as expensive and weighs slightly more. The jump to SU9400 would be the only reason I'd consider it but it isn't worth paying double the cost for a 1410 especially when the 1810tz is just around the corner :X
-
It's nice. Integrated DVD is a plus. It's heavier, though. I've just found one European price: 835,42 That clearly shifts it out of competition.
-
$550 more to purchase says no.
For the Cashback thing, Bing got back to me, $54 is now showing as pending. Just email Bing CB customer service, send them your reciept when they ask, they'll give you 12% (not 10) off. Pretty sweet stuff.
Weird. I don't know.....maybe all of our CSR's were smoking the same stuff...dunno. CSR's words are usually meant to be taken lightly, so whatever. -
Makes me wonder if J&R is reputable. It went from over 2000 to 400 to 125...??? And then I'm told it's being shipped, when clearly it seems that they haven't even received any shipments yet.
-
It's reputable, definitely. Or at least respectable, if not Newegg quality. However, CSR's are famous for asshattery in general, unless known or proven otherwise.
Nobody's received shipments yet because Acer hasn't shipped them to distributors yet. -
had a chat with the local acer here yesterday.. they stated that they would only be releasing the 14/18 notebooks in October.. sounds like they want to..
a) Wait for Win7 to hit the streets
b) Save them self the cost of handling the updates
news broke also today that Lenovo was doing the same with the new S12..
So the wait goes on...
-
So, I've finally made a decision. I've got rid of the netbook-thinking and will take 1810TZ with dual core. It will be a full replacement laptop for me and I will buy an external DVD to make it fully functional.
When the DIY Vidock is final, I will MOD my current notebook and transform it into a silent desktop with enough power for heavier games. (If it is compatible that is)
See you back in September/October
Sounds about right. One shop lists this:
So "W7H" will most likely mean Windows 7 home.
Now back to work and get into excitement mode again in Two Months(any Pandora fan here? lol)
Edit:
An other shop with 1410 dual core(LX.SA702.067):
-
Dealextreme.com has USB powered DVD drive for $40 incl. worldwide shipping last time I checked.
-
@Phil
Thanks for the hint
-
Here is another source ...

Cheers -
Thanks but I don't see that one available in the Netherlands. If anyone knows cheaper options for USB powered DVD drives please post.
-
I've been following the thread, and thought you guys might like to see this:
http://www.keenzo.com/showproduct.asp?M=ACER_AMERICA_LXSA70X066&ID=4206179
(the only place I've been able to find anything resembling actual stocking date for the 1410) Looks like we may be waiting for a week or two yet! Has anyone contacted other retailers for a shipping estimate?
Good luck to all. -
For USA there is somethong at J&R ...
http://www.jr.com/aluratek/pe/ALR_AEOD100F/
ANd here you can also see a collection ...
http://www.nextag.com/dvd-writer-usb-slim/search-html
For EU I have seen by now at Pixmania, but not cheaper, up 65€ ....
The cheapest until now I think is Amazon.Uk
http://www.amazon.co.uk/CnM-Ultra-External-Writer-Laptop/dp/B001T9YZL6
And lastly through E-Bay ....

Performance benchmarks compared to 751h and 3810T

And now just to confuse every one
MSI brings thier "Identical" 1810T ooopps I mean http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.notebook.de%2Fmsi-wind-u200-s3543uvhp-mit-intel-core-2-solo-su3500-14-ghz-umts-p-23442%2F
including 3G !!!.... looks like Acer was first out the door but here they come
-
So they HAVE been released to distributors.
Maybe the 1810's will come in October then with Win 7?
I'm don't need a dual core and am not even waiting for the 1810, but all this conflicting information is mind-boggling. -
Wow that MSI U200 is expensive.
Thanks. Ebay and dealextreme are a lot cheaper than Amazon. So $40 incl. shipping is the cheapest now. -
129€ more than Acer's 1810 3G is a bit steep for basically the same stuff IMO
There is no info about battery capacity on that site, though.
So that mentioning of a "dual core" in the second part of the review was a mistake. -
I wonder if the MSI is really 12 inch or 11.6". I've never seen any 12" panel with 1366*768 resolution.
-
but bigger memory 4 GB and 320G HD ..
-
Here is a hands on review... some sorry german speaker at a press conference (launch event ?) showing the beast.. if he states its 12" I guess we need to believe him ... hands on knowledge
http://www.webhush.com/msi-u200-12-inch-laptop-review/ -
Ah yes. I checked it again, it's 3GB RAM and 250GB HDD. I thought I had seen it with 4GB and 320 HDD, but it was a mistake. Also my math is not the best today, 130 would have been the right answer
-
But it has a Caleron 723 in that link ...
And It´s a 12,1" screen from the MSI Web page !!!
http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1877
Cheers -
the guys at notebook.de (First Link) are quoting a different spec
-
The MSI has a very small bezel. And I like 12.1" over 11.6".
But the price is way too high compared to Acer 1410/1810. -
Be aware of the MSI Notice:

Saphire blue is in stock at Amazon
-
Good to know. We'll see, I'll call J&R again maybe tomorrow, see what they say.
-
Canadians!
The model is out, 1410 Model Number.
Business Depot has it on display, SU3500, 3 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD. $549 + tax.
Not sure about the battery, didn't have a chance to ask.
But it is out, and the acer rep I emailed didn't even tell me about the 1810/1410. The dude thought there were no plans!
My bro is being picky about it, saying there is too much flex on the right palm rest. But for 2 GB more of RAM, a larger HDD, and a much better resolution monitor, not sure what his problem is. He still wants a $400 crappy 10 inch atom. -
Dammit, I just ordered a Lenovo IdeaPad S12 (with VIA Nano CPU) for US $369 a couple of days ago. I would've waited a few days for the Acer Aspire 1410 if I had known it would be available in just a few more days!
I'd be curious to know if its keyboard is identical to the Aspire One AO751, with its textured keys and all. Much better than the Timeline series keyboard with its smooth and glossy keys, IMO. -
I pre-ordered the 1410T from J&R, a great outfit. Done business with them for decades.
I spoke last week with a guy from Acer US shipping and he actually checked the shipping invoice to see when the 1410T will arrive in the US. The shipping guy said around August 20th, so perhaps J&R will get them in the coming weeks.
I hope so! The new Dell's battery is completely lame.
