    Hi guys, just joined coz Im not getting anywhere from other sites I thought Id join here and ask the people that have a similar machine. Dont no why I didnt think of that in the first place.

    I have a few probs but if you can help with just one or all, I would appreciate it.

    1.. I have just recently bought myself a new printer and its lovely apart from the wifi side of it which i thought was going to be a bonus. When i load the software for the printer (HP C4380) it loads loads of files into startup and then it takes my lappy ages to boot. I either get the wallpaper for 90 secs with no icons or i get the wallpaper and icons but it takes 90 secs or so for the system tray by the clock to load, any ideas? I cant do anything until everything has loaded.
    I thought about upgrading to 2gb, do you think that would help the boot sequence etc? Does anyone else have this printer? as i want to use it wifi y lol but the computer is slow when its all loaded big time. Well the boot is and the other thing is that it keeps losing the signal to it also for some reason? Im using a new v1.5 BT Home Hub if thats any help.

    2.. I have reformatted over the past few weeks and was wondering if anyone knew where you could get the acer arcade software from as all the other software that I needed I managed to get from the acer global website, not that I think that everything there is completely up to date either.

    3.. Can you please tell me what software you are using for your wifi connection to your router and possibly give me the link to the download for it. Are you using windows to manage your wifi connection or are you using the Intel Bg2200 or whatever its called. Im using the Intel without all the software, just the main driver and that seems to help.

    4.. Is anybody using Service Pack 3, Im not using it at the moment becoz I was told there were issues with it. I have had it on but everynow and then the bubble bottom right of the screen tells me that my connection is not secure and I know it is. This was annoying and so I deleted it but later was told this could have been an issue with SP3, anyone else had this problem?

    Anyway sorry to go on but if anyone can help with any of these questions it would be much appreciated. Oh Im using XP Prof SP2 at the moment 1GB of Ram.

    more RAM can only help... and there is something in the startup, or run keys of the registry that is causing that 90 sec lag... if that printer is a wireless printer,, it could be that the PC must get it's WiFi connection info from your router before it can connect to the Wifi printer,,,, i know the wifi "handshaking" takes a few seconds longer than i like and that's just talking to the router.. a wifi printer could slow that even more

    as far as SP3 goes,, i've ran it since RC3 came out in febuary,, and had NO PROBLEMS

    what you could do is create a RESTORE POINT before installing SP3 and if you don't like it or have problems you can always roll back the system to a state before SP3 ever began to install
