Hi, I am looking at doing a repair on my Aspire 1652 WLMi - we have a problem with the LCD screen it often flickers or loose the display ( however if you shine a light at it, you can see the image ). We have replaced the inverter & now the next item will be the VGA/video flex cable that plugs into the circuit board at one end and into the rear of the screen at the other - each time we press the cable at the circuit board end, it seems to be ok and then starts to deteriorate as the day goes on. I have had a look at the sticker on the plug to get the part number, but over time it has started to fade - it looks like: DUOZJ 5L9300 ???? I have tried searching this part number and nothing comes up - do you have an idea of what this part number may be, or how to get one in the UK ?

Wow - that was fast - as far as you know is this a fairly common part to fail? I know you can't see it but in addition to changing the inverter, do you think this would be the fix I'm looking for ??

It's possible but to be honest you never know- inverter, followed by cable and at the end the backlight itself- they tend to die in that order but there's always an off chance that it's the other way around in your case.
The cable is not that expensive so that's the way to go anyway.
