    Hello,
When I lookd closer at launch buttons (near the on/off button of the notebook), I saw the email button seem to be highlighted. Is it possible to configure it to light when there is new mail? I searched in Acers's Launch Manager, but there is no such option.

The button is not highlighted as you mentioned, the button only opens your outlook express or other email program when you press it. It can be configured to open any program under Acer elauncher as I'm sure you know already.

With the 8000 series, at least this button can light up/flash when you have email in the account you set it up to check.
The only thing is launch man doesn't have a setting in the main screen. You have to right click on the taskbar icon and select email detection. This opens a box where you can set the server, username, password and time interval.
