I am having great difficulty getting the card reader to work on my laptop.

I have the drivers off of the Acer website installed.

Firstly, does anybody have this laptop and able to use the card reader?

Is there a known problem relating to the card reader.

Bascially the card reader drive (F) is asking me to format the disk regardless of a a
card being in the drive or not. It wont let me format when a card is inserted.

Any help and advice much appreciated.

i have the same laptop, i have only had it 4 days but as of yet there are no problems with the card reader. my card reader just comes up as the 'G' drive on my laptop when a card is inserted.

have you tried to recover the laptop using the recovery cd???...
i know its abit drastic but it could work.

try sticking the card you want to read in slowly and wait until you hear a little tone that the computer tells you that it is installed properly. I've put in my SD cards at times but the computer doesn't pick it up. I remove it and slowly install it again and it registers so try that. Remember the card reader reads 3 different cards in the same slot so sometimes the card you put in maybe not be inserted properly for the computer to read it.

Also when you remove it after reading the card, use the "safely remove hardware" icon in the lower taskbar to remove the card properly. Hope this helps.
