    Dear all

I have an acer 1692 with a strange problem, one day when I started the laptop it refused to boot at all, just the green light of the power gets on and the cd drive and some hardisk access and then nothing boots and no display, just the processor fan running and then nothing, but some times if I leave it for a while , it start to boot after about 10 or 15 minutes , or if I push the power button several times, it start to boot normally and the lcd light up, I don't know what is causing this random boot since it rendred the laptop useless.

I sent the laptop to the service support, and they told me that you need a new motherboard, and since the laptop is not in warranty any more the motherboard will cost almost the price of a new laptop.

actually I am not convinced that its a motherboard problem since if it was for that reason it wouldn't boot at all, but it some time boot and run perfectly.

any suggestion will be appreciated since I am running out of options here, thanks for you all.
