Acer Aspire 1694

I'm planning to buy this month a new notebook and after some search I found the aspire 1694WLMIb_256 for a price around 1400 EURO, now is my question if somebody else already buyed this model or does anyone know of any alternatives?

The X700 256 Mb, Centrino 2 GHz, 1 gig DDR 2, 100 GB HD 5400 rpm and SPDIF output, not a bad configuration in my opinion, I didn't find any other notebook with this hardware in the same price range

That is a nice configuration...especially the 256MB X700 and the 1GB of RAM. I recommend reading this review of the 1691. It's not the same configuration as the 1694 you listed, but it will give you a good idea of what to expect display/build quality-wise, heat, etc.
