Hey i was just wondering if any of the crazy computer tech experts on this can take a look at this laptop im looking at for school/pleasure.

I have a pretty good sense on computer so I knew what a good computer/laptop is by the specs. A I7 processor with 8 Gigs of ram for 999.99 is a insanely cheap deal for those specs.

The only problem as i said is its a Acer.

    So how is it?

Here is the laptop im looking at:

    Hi,

specs are not everything - especially with laptops. i7 CPUs are reportedly running hot and thus causing additional noise due to fan activity. Battery life won't be good either.

There is no such thing as the "best" laptop since all depends on the personal usage scanario.

Perhaps it is not a bad idea to check this thread: What Notebook Should I Buy?

Just make sure you know how big that is going to be, especially if you plan on using it for school (and thus carrying it around). I thought I wanted a 17" too, but once I had it for a couple weeks it was just too big and clumsy to be practical, so I sold it and now use my netbook exclusively when I want portability.

Of course, I've got my eyes on a 3820tg as soon as I get the money for it...
