    Hi!

Just bought Aspire 2023. In the beginning I had no problems with the
    fan...
Then I installed the omegadriver 2.5.44...
Now the fan starts loudly every 3 minutes for about 30 sec.
    What's the trick?
I don't know if there's any connection with the omega driver, I actually reinstalled XP, not using the Acer CD's... maybe there was
    a patch solving the problem...
Does anyone know what should I do?... please help...it's making me crazy...

    Thanks,
    Julian

I have the Aspire 2023 too and I don't recommend the Omega drivers. Try the original drivers provided by Acer. Not only they feel much more stable, they also offer better performance (I had a lot of trouble with the omega drivers, not fan related but even worse!).

I installed the Omega drivers on my 2012WLMi and got slightly better benchmark scores and slightly better performance in Unreal Tournament 2004. The drivers seemed to be working fine, however yesterday I started getting lockups in UT2004, so I switched back to the stock Acer drivers and after 2 hours of gaming I hadn't experienced any more lockups. I guess I'll try the latest Omega drivers that came out a few days ago, but unless they work perfectly, the stock drivers are only a few percent slower, which is a small price to pay for stability.

It's a shame though that we can't access the powerplay features of the card.
