Okay, I got a new laptop a few days ago. For those who want to know, it's an Acer Aspire 2930Z with a 2.0GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core processor and 2GB of RAM. Now, even though things seem to be fine, I don't like using Vista and I'd rather do what I did last time, dual boot with Windows XP. Now here's the problem. This laptop is using AHCI mode, which is incompatible for XP unless you either slipstream or create a CD with the drivers so I get a BSoD once setup prepared stuff. I could switch to IDE mode but that'd just up my Vista install with a quick BSoD as well. I have most of the drivers, but I'm really unsure if this chipset driver will do the job when it's slipstreamed. Would the chipset driver allow XP to run on AHCI
Somebody told me about the Matrix Storage Drivers as well and apparently that'll work.
Also, another problem that I have is that rtmbr.bin (the Acer MBR) is nowhere to be found on the PQSERVICE partition, so how could I get that once I've got the dual boot working?
