Hello,
Sir, I have Acer aspire 2930z with Windows 7 ultimate (64 bit) installed, the problem I face is sometimes, when I play games on it (the Need for speed undercover). The laptop gets very hot and automatically goes power off, I have to unplug the AC adaptor wire, replug and then only I can switch on the pc or else if I try to switch on without un plugging, nothing happens.
This is a problem for what I am really worried, well sir, I use my laptop with my battery but it is connected to electricity all the time as we have some electric break down problem(s) here, so do you think the pc gets heated because of battery plugged?
Infact before when I got this laptop new, I used to play for 3-4 hours the game and nothing used to happen.
I bought the laptop exactly a year back in march 2009.
I have 4 GB or ram, 320 GB hard and 2.17 dual core processor.
Please help me out sir,
Faisal.

Your problem is luckily common. It sounds like you got dust stuck in your fans! That means, it would be smart, to start out with cleaning the fans. And if the problem is still there, we will take from there.

Thanks !!! and if I have to open, do tell me from where to start and if there is any risk in this action???

This will give you a reasonable idea of what you can expect inside, though it's for another model it may help you to remove the fan which is normally secured with 2 screws and do not forget to disconnect from motherboard.
Use an Anti static strap when you open the laptop because of the static charge might damage the motherboard.

What is an anti static strap???? And are is it sure if I remove all the components carefully and replace them, the laptop will work ?? LOL???

You have to wear this anti-static wrist strap and connect that to a metal to discharge the static electricity generated in your body.

You only need to clean the fan, what other components you want to dismantle? -

Hi, this is maybe too late but, I noticed this too and there is an easy work around if you have the Acre E management pre installed on your computer.
In the battery settings ther is a selection of power plans and one of the power plans is set to automatically shut down when in use for more than 8 hours when plugged in with maximum cpu usage.
I disabled these options and tweaked them to my requirements and havn't had a problem since.
Hope this maybe help.
