I have an Acer Aspire 3003WLMi running Windows XP Home SP2. The problem is that the touchpad and keyboard do not work with the battery installed. Take the battery out & run from AC and everything is OK.
    Can anyone help please?
    Thanks

The terminals can not be broken because it works on AC. Sounds like a software problem to me.

I would suggest that you uninstall any pointer software installed on your pc (probably made by synaptic). Once that is done do a restart of your pc and see if it works correctly.

If it does then install the new version of their software off their site (or leave it if you don't use the 4 way scroll button.

I work at a repair depot and have found the same issue with 2 of the same laptops, unfortunately it is a battery issue and not under warranty. The voltages are no longer correct on the battery and thus causing the keyboard/touchpad to be non-operative. Hope this helps
