I've already installed 2g of OCZ 667 ram
and the 7200rpm hitachi 80G HD...it acts like a desktop now,
but doesn't multitask as well as I'd like...

Now I see Newegg has socket S1 dual core procs for CHEAP...

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...Subcategory=343&description=&Ntk=&srchInDesc=

Will one of them fit/work in this Aspire 3102WLMi?

Acer tells me the proc is soldered in the board,
but I see people upgrading the 5100,which I read is essentially the same thing.

Don't make me take this thing apart again JUST to look...LOL!

If their socket S1, then it will work...

you need to make sure that the latest BIOS is installed in the unit first as some of the newer revision CPU's may not be detected properly; the CPU is 100% user upgradable as it is socketed. In order to ensure that the unit doesn't get too hot i wouldn't go further than a turion tl-56, but seeing as thats the fastest cpu listed it wont be a problem :)
