    Acer Aspire 4730z Booting Problem

    Hi. A few months ago my Acer Aspire 4730z powered off and when I try to power it back on the Acer screen (that comes up normally during startup) shows for about 2 seconds then the screen turns to black with a blinking "_" in the top left corner. When I press some random buttons on the keyboard I hear 4 fairly loud beeps then silence again. If I don't press random buttons, after a while it starts to beep once every 5-10 seconds or so. Any idea what all this means? Or what I can do to fix it? Thanks.

    Is it charged? Is your power brick working? Is the battery bad? Pull it out and try to power up with the laptop plugged in.

    Other than that, can you get into BIOS options by pressing F2? At least that would be a starting point.
