Nvidia GT 540M is only re-branded GT 435M with slightly higher clock...
So nothing new when it comes to the hardware...

    Cheers

@Arminator- That's true but then again GT435M is/was pretty good so GT540M is not going to be sluggish for sure.

Does anybody have an eta on the release of this notebook, preferably in the US?
I know the 540M is basically a rebranded 400m series gpu but the only other acer i was considering getting is the 3820tg and i would have to import that and i don't believe id be able to do all of that!

and id rather have the nvidia gpu with optimus support because optimus is better than ati's/amd's gpu switching solution.

Yeah and imo from what I've seen so far ATI cards are less optimized in certain mainstream games compared to NVidia...for example Need for Speed Hot Pursuit - on max settings I was able to get constant 40~50 fps with a GT420M, but can only get ~25 fps with a 5650 which SHOULD be quite a bit faster. It's kinda disappointing that such great ATI cards are put to waste despite their better benchmarks.

I'm just a little bit disappointed in the fact that they can have a newest of the new gpu and a bluray drive and still does not include usb 3.0!

i was thinking about getting the new dell xps 15 but the price is to high atm.

GT420M scores about the same as HD5650 on high settings with 4xAA- it's about 28fps. If you say you've had 40-50fps you had to have different settings.
