Hello, I am currently using a 4920G. But I have no official reviews for it. I mainly just rely on 5920G reviews for information. I don't have the time to write a review for the laptop, but feel free to ask me any questions about it. I'll be happy to answer.

well looking at the spec of the 4920 its very close to the spec of its bigger brother the 5920 the main difference being the faster graphics card in the 5920

this laptop seems to be aimed at people who dont game much but still want the spec and features of the 5920

i think you will be well pleased if you do decide to purchase this laptop!

Ah thanks, I very nearly waited for the 4920 because of the smaller screen but HDMI was high on my piorities list.

i think HDMI is a feature that comes with the 8600GT that the 5920G has. the 4920G only sports a X2500(not HD and equivalent to a X1700), which is a much older card.
Edit: the difference between the two laptops boils down to portability and power. the 4920G is very portable and is able to run current games well with no Dx10 support. On the other hand, the 5920G is a desktop replacement not meant to be carried around. The 4920G is a multi-purpose laptop thats good in all fields, but not excelling in any fields specifically.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have been told that it is possible to purchase with the RAM upgraded to 4GB, any information on this and would it be worth the extra cost.
I have also been told that the following are comparable with the aspire 4920G. any views?

    Compaq Presario V3532TU

    Compaq Presario V3519TU

    HP Pavilion DV2220TX

Yes, the RAM is upgradeable to a total of 4GB, and yes it will cost some more money. I'm guessing around $100. I'm not sure about the other laptops you've listed, but 4920G is more than worth its price. You should go read some reviews and see which one fits you the most. To start off here's a 4920G review: http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/index.php/taxid;2136212931;pid;3950;pt;1
