jus brought this for 2 weeks. clean install wit Win XP Pro SP3. but than wat makes me frustrated is tat when i use windows media player 11 to play mp3, as well as surfing net. somehow the song jus lag, but did not pause.
at first i thought is windows media player issue, so reinstall it, but stil the same. i than reinstall sound driver(Realtek), but doesnt help too. so went on to try other player, like winamp, media player classic. but didnt help too.
went on to power options to adjust to "Always On" which the speed n voltage wil be fix at max. it improve a bit only. however this only works on my previous laptop(Aspire 5584), but did not works on 4937G, when i observe it wit CPU-Z, Everest. the multiplier stil adjust either 6x or 10x. voltage also too..
i also did all the windows update, tweaks as well.
btw the processor n chipset using is T9550(2.66GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 6MB L2 Cache), Intel Cantiga PM45 Express chipset.
so hopefully there is a solution to this. (doesnt happen on 5584)
thank u so much!![]()

Windows Media Player use a lot of memory compared to WinAmp.
You can download it free from here: http://www.winamp.com/player -
anyone having the same problem wit this model or T9550 processor? -
I'm 100% sure that WinAmp use less memory, but have you updated your GPU drivers? My sound can also begin to sound choppy if I stress my computer REALLY much. (E.g. when I'm scanning my computer, have a game open, and watch YouTube).
-
only the graphics driver on acer website is able to install n work well..
i did not stress it...jus normal internet explorer..
i dont tink i wil open media player n play game or watch youtube... -
I remember I had some issues with MP3 skipping because my poor hard drive was being stressed - it had to do one thing, read audio data, load web pages, do another thing, etc. As a result, it couldn't access all the data in time, and had to skip.
Use HDTune and see if your read rates are where they should be, and possibly consider a hard drive upgrade. -
i test the drive when it arrive...here's the benchmark. so wat do u tink i can upgrade my hdd to? n this hdd is already the highest of 5400rpm, 500gb already..

OK, a 500GB 5400rpm drive should not be having those kinds of problems. HDTune looks just fine to me.
Again, see what's running in the background when you're playing music.
As well, did you always have this problem, or did it start after you had been using the system for a while? -
it wil happen when i scroll when surfing.. -
Hey, I remember I had a similar problem, and what I did was I updated the wireless WLAN driver, and my network card.
Solved it for me.
Good luck. -
Try a different browser?
