Hi! I am planning to buy a notebook for my girfriend. I came across the Acer Aspire 5024WLMi (LX.AA505.010) model with a 256 Mb X700 graphic card:

I heard that it is good overall notebook, it only drawbacks are a slow hard drive (can be replaced) and loud cooler (is it really so loud?).

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience regarding this notebook?

My girlfriend will be using it for her research projects and extensive gaming (She is a hardcore Ravenshield gamer, plays some Battelfield 2) and for watching DVDs.

    Thank you for your answers.

    Regards, VidKo

when i bought my laptop they said it came with a 4200rpm hd but it actualy has a 5400rpm hd :D which isnt that slow at all :D
also the turion can be replaced with anything upto a Turion MT-40 :D
another good thing is that the x700 is a gpu powerful enough to use the 256 memory great performance increase between that and the 128, the extra 128 vram will be needed in the newest games, realy realy wish mine was 256.
