    Acer Aspire 5100 booting up problems...

    "Laptop was running slowly so was switched off. When rebooted scan disk started but was turned off in error. Now it on rebooting it beeps one long beep and two short ones and the hard disc indicator is lit but the screen remains black. HELP!"

    5100 have Phoenix BIOS so the error codes are these:

    Yours looks different, in Award 1 long and 2 shorts means Video failure - leads to mainboard replacement.
