    Acer Aspire 5100 slow outlook

    The address line in my Outlook is very slow - takes 5-10 seconds to gregister each letter of a new Create Mail address. Any ideas?

    Have you try loading the service packs on your outlook ?

    you can also try start out look in safe mode

    by add /safemode the shortcut

    my advice

    switch to GMAIL... it can access your POP3 accounts like outlook
    may even be able to import your address book

    just an alternative option if the above posts don't help

    Thunderbird. why are you still using outlook. ive never seen so many security patches for one programme (outlook).
    in my life. some thing must be wrong with it.
    switch to thunderbird its so much better.

    did the service pack help? what edtion outlook you run 2003 or 2007 or 2000?

    why is when any one every has problem people suggest change Program Maybe he like out look you know it possable people do what is with if it broke switch to something else Idea why not fix I mean cound be simply thing

    Am not say they Anything wrong with other program It just seem people more quick to suggest diffent program then actauly try to help with the current one

    My Aspire 5101 has become slower and slower. I don't know if it started with Outlook, because I rarely use it. I think it started with some kind of crash in the DVD-player/burner one month ago. (I have burned quite much movies, and this has taken longer and longer time for every time I have burned). Now it's imposible to even watch a film or play a CD.

    But the whole computer is now slow. It's most noticeable when I use Firefox. The time to load a web-page is quadruple compared with normal. My PC-mender tells me to buy a new computer, but I don't know..... I have only had it two years.

    maybe all you need is a good clean out of the hard drive, defragg and just get shot of all the stuff you never use.
    try and find a reg cleaner and take a look in start-up in msconfig. they are the first places to start with a slow machine.

    also you might want to check hard disk is runing udma you can do this under device manger then hard disk control option

    also check event log sound like hard disk cound be fail it slow botting up any everything?
