    Hey guys i'm having trouble with my CD drive and i think i need to reinstall it but i dont have my recovery cd since i moved to college. any idea where i could get a download or something???

    what kinds of problems are you having?? usually a reinstall won't help with a CD drive problem.... i recommed you check the DMA settings,, because that is about all a reinstall will fix unless a virus has done some creative registry editing...

    it simply does not show up as a hard ware.. but when a cd is put in the you can here it spinning and the light goes on, but the computer doesnt even have the drive shown in my computer screen. maybe its a virus im not sure. what is the dma your talking about??
