I have an Acer Aspire 5251 running Windows 7 64-bit and according to the manufacturer, it can be upgraded up to 8GB. But since the processor is single-core, would it be worth it or is it overkill. I just bought this computer and I can't afford getting another one but I do a lot of multi-tasking and now it's a bit slow. Any ideas?

    Specs: AMD processor V120 (2.2GH)

Better try to get yourself a better CPU...
4GB of RAM is more than enough for everyday computing...
For me 2GB is enough even when I play games...

I just upgraded the cpu to a phenom II x920 BE. Its rated as 45w but I didnt notice any heat issues so far. Things are much much smoother. Battery life seems about the same or a little longer now since the cpu is rarely working at 90% and above unlike when I had the single core processor. If you are concerned about the wattage, then you dont have to go as high as I did and go with one of the 25w or 35w mobile cpu that are s1g4 socket based. Oh, if you need help in actually taking apart the laptop to get access to the cpu, just download the manual pdf. It shows pictures and step by step process. You should have a problem. Let me know if you have any questions
