I picked up this laptop at Staples on Monday. So far so good. I really like how cool and quiet it is.

After I unpacked it, I did the usual of uninstalling all the bloatware that it comes with. I usually would just reinstall Windows but this unit is for my mom. It's just going to be sitting there on, all day.

I ran Prime95 for about 4 hours. And then ran 3DMark11 for another 4 hours. My purpose was to stress the APU to make sure it doesn't hang or blue screen. The temperature kept cool through out the runs.

3h40m is not bad. But I'm curious what things were you doing on it?

I was going to wait for the new Fusion APUs to come out...I think the new ones are being launched in ~May. But my mom needed a new laptop pretty badly. Her 6 year old laptop just wasn't cutting it.

    Screen brightness setting?
    Wifi on? g or n?
    Surfing net?
    Outlook?
    Excel?
    Word?
    PowerPoint?
    Play MP3?
    Watching movies?

Just got one from staples at the same price- had the HP dm1 before- so I knew it is zippy enough for my daughter to play with with the larger screen, dvd-rw, and 4gb ram memory. Awesome price for the performance. Hopefully AMD continues with this trend of releasing better than intel atom crap.

I am astounded that such a low end graphic card can still handle games at low-medium setting well. I might get a llano version when it comes out for work.

I would have expected some better battery life than these 3h something, especially these are low power CPUs.

I have the HP DMZ1 with the it gets around 7 hrs. Im sure at $379 the battery is lacking in capacity. I will look up the specs
