Hi there I have a Acer Aspire 5310 running windows 7 and have a Celeron M 520 CPU. I am wanting to upgrade it to give the laptop a little more grunt and battery life. I did purchase a C2D T5600 but didnt even get to the bios screen. The Chipset from CPU-Z says:
Number of cores 1 (max 1)
Number of threads 1 (max 1)

Southbridge Intel 82801GHM (ICH7-M/U) rev. B0

Is there any CPU upgrade such as Core 2 duo, core duo or even core solo that would be a compatible upgrade? The Bios is a Phoenix V1.50 and is the latest according to the Acer website.

Can you open up your RAM bay and near the memory there is a number on a sticker, does it begins with MB.TEB6.003..... or MB.AZL06...
If it's MB.TEB6.003.... 940GML Core Solo CPUs
If it's MB.AZL06..........943GML Core2Duo.
EDIT: Someone has already upgraded with T5600 in a 5310, I am surprised to see why it's not working for you, could be faulty CPU.
