    Hi everyone, im new here.

I have an Acer Aspire 5315 that, I guess, died 2 years ago - but I still have it, I have a Mac now but I would like to get the Acer fixed.

So basically what happens is I plug the AC in and the charging light doesnt come up on the notebook, I try to turn it on but nothing. I took the battery out and tried to turn on, nothing.

I used my Dad's laptop charger but the same thing happens.

I've already done the reset (Disconnect Battery & AC and press Power Button for 30 secs) but that didn't do anything.

    Help, advice, preferably free? =]

This could turn out to be problematic. Do you remember how it died? That's the most important part here.

How firm is the adapter connector on the laptop. Hopefully only it will be broken.

Do you still have the original charger? The laptop should be able to accept a range of input voltages, but original adapter will make it much easier to determine the range.

Do you maybe know someone with a similar laptop who could charge your battery?

If your adapter has a LED or some similar indicator, does it turn on when you connect the charger?
