I am looking to upgrade my ram to 2 gigs. My problem is I don't know the exact model number of my Acer. I ran in to Memory-Up.com and they list 9 different Acer Apsire 5317 models! It says "Your Acer Aspire 5315-wxyz only supports memory modules made with a specific type of chip.".

I had a sticker on the laptop that read the last 4 extra numbers but my wife took it off one day and threw away because "it was peeling" grrrrrr!

So how do I find out what number my Acer Aspire 5315 is? Could I just buy any of the ram listed for the 5315's? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and my Acer does not have a built in cam, however; it does have a built in mic. The Hard Drive is 80 gigs and the ram came with 1 gig. The CPU is a Intel Celeron M 550 with Socket 479. Hope that helps some lolz.

Here is some info from CPU-Z if that would help also.

First ten digits of the serial number are the part number for the model. Glad we could help Frank.

Sorry didn't mean to freak you out. Acer has a tool on their website where you can check the registration info on a computer if you have the serial number.
