    Hi, first post here.
I'm trying to restore the hard drive on the aspire 5315 to factory settings after it was infested big style with viruses. The system refused to boot up at all, showing a screen that said 'Windows failed to start, the following file is missing or corrupt - windows/system32/winload.exe' I used the recovery discs I made and changed the bios to boot from CD. Everything seemed to go fine as it proceeded to reinstall everything, but after it had finished and rebooted itself, I was presented with the same screen again. I tried again and the same thing happened.
Has the hard drive been corrupted? If so will a new HD do the trick? I've got a XP disc that I will use if so. Any help will be greatly appreciated thx
