    I have a 5315 with an updated Intel T8100. I was running W7 Ultimate
until I found out it was a copy and doing the right thing, sent it in to MS
privacy dept. Now I have the same laptop and have loaded XP Pro 32
on it and all is well save for the Ethernet device which needs a driver.

I have downloaded the latest drivers from Acer, but still cannot get the
Ethernet driver installed. I don't know which LAN card I have in the unit,
but I'm wondering if I'll have to switch back to the old Celeron chip in
order to get this device to work ? I have everything else going, but
need the Ethernet devise to work in order to work from a wired modem.

Does anyone have a solution or advice ?

    Thanks in advance.

When you installed XP did you load the Chipset drivers?

Yes, everything is loaded as far as I can tell. I have a W7 Ulti 32/64
coming so I'm just going to put everything on hold until I received it.

    Thanks for the reply.
